Michael Clark – Chief Executive Officer

Michael ClarkMichael Clark is Chief Executive Officer of EFH. With more than 25 years' experience, he has held a number of key senior management appointments. For the last 7 years, Michael was Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking at Arab Bank focusing on business development with major corporate and institutional customers across a broad range of activities including corporate finance, project finance, trade finance and real estate. He was a member of the bank's Management, Asset and Liability and Credit committees throughout this time. Previously, Michael spent 9 years at Yamaichi Bank (UK) in senior roles - Initially as Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking and latterly as General Manager. Michael holds a BSc. (Hons) degree in Banking and Finance, an ACIB professional qualification and an MBA in Finance from the City University.

David Potter – Chief Operating Officer

David PotterDavid Potter is Chief Operating Officer of EFH. David has worked in the banking and finance sector for more than 20 years. Most recently he was Head of Operations at Europe Arab Bank with responsibility for developing and implementing operational strategy across all support areas of the bank. Prior to that, David spent many years working in a number of senior operations management positions with Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken both in London and Stockholm. 

Azhar Khan – Head of Finance

Azhar KhanAzhar Khan is Head of Finance for EFH. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has worked in the financial services industry for 14 years. Azhar was previously with Islamic Bank of Britain as Director of Financial Operations where he was a key member of the senior management team which successfully took the company from the pre-launch project phase to a fully operational bank. Azhar has also held management positions at Charles Schwab Europe and Barclays Private Bank.


Grant Lowe – Head of Risk

Grant LoweGrant Lowe joined EFH in October 2007 as Head of Risk Management and brings with him 7 years experience in this and comparable roles and 23 years' banking experience overall.  Grant comes most recently from European Islamic Investment Bank where he worked to help the company become FSA authorized. He was also Chairman of the bank's Risk Management Committee. Previously, Grant held management positions at Bank of America, Citibank and South Africa Reserve Bank. He is also a Certified Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (CAIB).

 

Simon Powley – Head of Corporate and Institutional Finance

Simon PowleySimon Powley joined EFH in September 2007 as Head of Corporate and Institutional Finance. Simon is a career banker with 25 years' experience in Treasury, Capital Markets and Derivatives. He comes most recently from Standard Chartered Bank  where he was Head of the Global Markets team in Abu Dhabi. Simon has held several other managerial positions including Assistant General Manager with ABC International Bank and Senior Manager of Treasury Sales at ING Barings.

Mark Watts - Head of Asset Management

Mark WattsMark Watts joined EFH in January 2008 as Head of Asset Management. Mark has 20 years' experience in the fund management industry, having worked with two leading UK fund management groups. Most recently, he was with Morley Fund Management as Head of Global Fixed Income with overall responsibility for strategic asset distribution and the structuring and launch of new funds. Previously, Mark worked for 17 years for Baring Asset Management in London and Boston in a series of key roles.
